You must have come down on 27 into Lancaster or went up into it on 27. Sure as hxxx; did not come out of Richmond and thru Paint Lick.
You would still be straddling the bridge end coming down that way. Pic of roads looks familiar of old but smooth surface and usable to the ditch bottom, and trees topped back.
Some of them sign post should be in pipe holders. Get out and move,. make the corner, stick it back. If there is enough earth still there to cut across.
KY has improved its roads very much, and in some good ways. If not widened drastically, have trimmed and paved smooth so you can use all that is there. And, when they built the toll roads. Toll pay for it, we will free it. They did. (The Blue Grass and one near Somerset.)

Do you ever deliver to The Farm Gate Capital of the World? I assume you know it’s Casey County which as the crow flies isn’t far from Lancaster. My cousin runs his Grandads Angus operation in Lincoln County just north of the Casey/Lincoln County line.

Yup. I’ve hauled slitted, eye to the sky coils in to Stephens Pipe and Steel, Tartar Tube, and Davis Gate and Wire. Also slinky coils in to Stephens Pipe and Steel.

I figured you knew your way around Casey County. The late Donald Tarter bought my place 20 something years ago to expand his place. Have you hauled to the Dutchmen’s Market (Amish Roofing supply) in Phil just north of Dunville?

No, I’ve never hauled into Dutchmen’s.

They run a place at the bottom of Thomas Ridge. Donald Tarters home was at the top of the hill and my little farm was behind his property next to the Dutchmans Market.

Either of you ever been up KY55 from the BlueGrass to Taylorsville? I never in a truck, but the last 5 miles in will tie knots in a regular Hyundai SUV. If I was 30 now and had a little money I'd go in there and enjoy life. Fishing in the State Park and deer strolling into your backyard.
Hardware store there like a hardware store should be. Still offered the 4 prong, flat tin, nose calf weaner. Tech enough to re key 4 house locks for me. One little about 10 acre shopping/eating development.

I have been out that way many times in a 4 wheeler North of Taylorsville going to the lake and it’s a good road. It’s been 30 years since I have been south of Bloomfield in a semi and what I remember it sucked.
