My biggest fear has always been shtf and having to walk extended periods to at least have a chance of getting home. So I always felt a certain setup was good "insurance" for that 99.9% unlikely to happen event.cuzzin it and Arctic_fox Thank this. -

If he or she or it is ligit or in the off chance someone wondering this question for real ill answer like its an honest question.
frankly i mean hell i get it. Id love to carry my AK in the rig. But honestly if the odds of my needing a gun at all are low my odds of needing not only a rifle but a high cap sporting rifle are even lower like win lotto twice before i need my AK low.
Even then a sporting rifle is a piss poor defenseive weapon for a vehicle. Your going to be up close and personal, your going to have a lot of other vehicles and people close by, your going to have overpen worrys galore, i can see it now. Take a shot at a baddy and congrats you killed said baddy but your 5.56 round just zipped through him and killed poor bob who was napping in the tractor next to you. CONGRATS! have fun explaining THAT to a lawyer.
Your traveling so odds are good your going to butt up against state and likely federal laws as was explained by others. God ####ing help you if you deploy an AR in say....chicago or any blue state frankly. Even in red states the fact you have a RIFLE is going to have every thug defending lawyer trying to claim you only wanted to kill someone even more then a low cap low cal pistol will. Let alone THE evil black rifle GASP. They are unwiedly as hell in confined places. Take too long to draw, have WAY too much potential for a ND if you keep one in the chamber. And if you get searched by a customer or worse say someone breaks into your rig and steals it while your taking a dump it could lead to some serious legal and employment issues.
hell you could have some rando mechanic grab it and use it in a crime. Good luck with that legal mess. What happens if you break down or need to fly or take a bus or a train? and frankly long rifles in general are a piss poor choice as a defensive weapon in a vehicle to begin with. A pistol at least is pretty easy to catch an uber to a gun store or near a gun store with a FFL transfer discreetly worst comes to worse. Id love to see what your uber thinks when they show up to you holding your AR or your bag happy to see them. Or worse try to transfer it in a state that its illegal to own that type of rifle or high cap mags.
And those are just off the top of my head. I could easily do a whole rant about this. And this is coming from me the former most parinoid distrusting prepper gun nut on this forum....former only because a certain moron is somehow even moreso then i am and is currently trying to dig themselves out of a hole.gentleroger, TripleSix, W923 and 2 others Thank this. -
