Well Bruce is wrong they don’t have the same stroke…..However I make that same misstatement. And to help drive my point home that a mechanical push tube engine will never make the torque of an electronic over head cam that one’s only making 17 and change. At that power level it should be at 2 to 21 on the torque.

I would love to find a nice 379 that needs a transplant and build one being honest. What id do with it idk. But it be cool I am sure of that. I have an 81 that’s a white DI and I’ve got a yellow 85 that’s out. Dads 84 is white too.

My 3406 made 682 at 1900 2023ft lbs of torque to the rollers. Why I’m so crazy bout a V8 I’ll never know.

About time to mention the cluster foxtrot that he and that gear fast run slow Rutherford snake oil turbo 3000 air tab salesman created with those poor guinea pigs that drank the koolaid. I don't remember the name of the thread on here, maybe some of you do.

Sad thing is that Rutherford or whatever his name was did have some good information, and that engine scan thing was probably a good tool to have, but greed overcame them.

 

What rpm was peak torque at?

 

1400 or right at it. I’m hunting the dyno sheet in all these pictures. Hopefully I can find it
