Thats why I said feel free to check me. Please do. If I am wrong, say so. And cite your source...

Edit: I was a math major in college, I LOVE statistics. Find me some data. SHOW ME how non english speakers are making the roads more dangerous.

Drunk drivers are the number 1 killer on our hiways. Most DWIs end up with about 10k in fines and off to the races. But thats not as dangerous as a truck with a driver that doesnt speak english? Lets focus on #### that matters...

It's a form of distracted driving which study after study shows is generally bad.

Why is it distracted driving? Because it adds a bunch of time to the steps of comprehending what you see - deciding what to do - and then doing it.

The difference is I would learn the language BEFORE I took up residence in a new country and I certainly would not even attempt to drive even a moped before I had a grasp on the rules & regulations.

I couldn't imagine moving to Australia or another country that drives on the left and just hopping behind the wheel of a fully loaded truck. All the years of muscle memory from driving on the right I bet would be a huge mind####.

100% correct. Now keep in mind, we are talking (according to the "experts") about taking 10,000 drivers off the road. Again, how many crashes are caused by not being able to read english? How many because they were looking at their phone? How many DUIs?

In the grand scheme of ALL truck accident, what percentage is the cause "because the driver couldnt read english"?

    Nearly ZERO.

Right, and what makes you think that any truck driver isnt doing that as well? Again, how many crashes are caused by a driver not being able to read english?

You seriously want to take maybe 10,000 drivers off the road because of a handful (seriously, a handful)? Really? In 2023 it is estimated there were 12,500 deaths caused by drunk drivers. Drunk Driving | NHTSA

And we are going to focus on a handful? For real?
