Interesting they went with Dodge Durango's. There was a big issue with Indiana State Police and defective oil coolers last year I think in Durangos.

CHP are not actively doing anything, just a new car to sleep on onramps in. If they took an active approach to speeding and road rage it would slowdown. Drivers, and just in CA drive like jerks, speed tailgating, brake checking us all to common.

No problem harassing 18 wheels, but, allow 4 wheels to do whatever they want. The same phenomenon happens in jury trials involving truck drivers.

I guess GTA5. when I'm in the mood, I like a good rocket launcher mounted on my vehicle! I admit it.

Dilletantes. Around here, we have a minivan complete with stick figure family in the window, a Nissan Sentra, Toyota Tacoma and a Ram work truck-bed rack, beacon and all- for stealth cars. That's just a few. You have absolutely no clue until it explodes in a display of red and blue. Watch your arse around Prescott AZ, you don't know what's a cop car in these parts.

By me it’s mostly Fords (Taurus and Explorer based police interceptors, along with F-150s and Super Dutys-those are mostly used by DOT and SWAT). However the Staties also used unmarked Ford Fusions. They’re mostly used on construction zone details but they do nab the occasional scofflaw. You might even see them bring out a Mustang to play to go after the speed demons along the Mass Pike.

What are cops? Its rare to even see a cop outside city limits in my neck of the woods.

Makes perfect sense. Truckers are easier to catch and you’re less likely to get shot at.

Anything else is too much like actual work.
