After you quit/fired, how long before remarks show on your DAC?

Anybody know if there is a time limit or something? Like the previous employer has to make remarks on a driver's DAC within 30 or 90 days of that driver being quitting/being fired or something? Then if they miss that window they can no longer make remarks? or can they make remarks at any point in the future after you leave? Like even if it was a year or something after you leave? If anyone knows this, thank you.

My current employer ATS did all the background checks like DAC, criminal and MVR. That took a week. I passed fine. But then before I boarded the plane for orientation, another week later, they called my last employer by phone to see if I was officially rehireable and did I have any issues like something new. So DAC isn't everything. It's probably not the answer you wanted. I suppose you could apply to some company on intelliapp and see if you get cleared. It won't follow you around to do that.

I asked the new recruiter what all the steps were what timeline to expect. I knew they would do that before i even left the first company. I don't think every new employer calls the last company, not sure.

I wouldn't worry about it. DAC usage is declining and there are lots of carriers that don't use it at all. I would totally get a copy of it yourself as many times per year as you can to verify old info falls off like it should and to make sure there's no BS to fight.

It all depends. I've heard of companies put something put on a driver's DAC report immediately after they part ways. I've heard of other drivers that didn't discover a stain til months after they left a company and went to a different one, and some may not even report anything at all. Depending on the violation, the wording is moreso what can hurt you.

For instance, if you had a sexy woman in your truck while on your 10, and you get caught, they could word it as, "violation of company policy." Now if they put it in there as an "unauthorized passenger," that may hurt you, even though that's not necessarily accurate.

Why not email HireRigth.com the people that keep the DAC reports?
