Had all mine done at once as well. In hindsight I'm glad they're gone but on the other hand chewing with my front teeth sucked, took the whole lunch break to eat a sandwich.

Imagine cave man times, back before humans discovered fire & cooked food they chewed a lot because they chewed very tough food. Cooking greatly reduced the amount of chewing necessary. Imagine chewing raw vegetables, tough raw meat versus meats & veggies that have been cooked all day.

When I was in my early twenties got a piece of thin line chicken meat stuck between my wisdom tooth. Caused the worst pain I ever felt. Couldn’t move or anything. Dentist took the piece of chicken meat out and sent me on my way. About 15 years later my gum swelled up and was having throbbing pain. Same tooth. Dentist yanked my wisdom tooth out. No pain really. Showed me the cavity that was eating a hole in the tooth. Recovered probably in two days. Wasn’t bad at all. No pain killers. Haven’t had any pain or any issues with my teeth since. I still have my other three wisdom teeth still in.

Well, I appreciate the concern, and I can explain more. 1st, I'm 70, and haven't decided what to do about the teeth left. I've done more dangerous things in my life, like drive a semi than a few bad teeth could ever cause. My back molars were pretty rotten, and festered from time to time, but a mouthwash of Epsom salt kept it in check. I did inquire about surgical removal, but of the 6 dentists in my small town, nobody would do it. One night, while reading TTR, they were really loose, and I bit down and basically broke most of the top off, just hanging by a thread, so like my childhood dentist when removing a loose tooth, "1,2,,YANK", it bled a little, but was an instant relief. About a month later, same thing happened on the other side. I know about the roots, and quite frankly, with the rotten tops gone, it basically "skinned over" and it hasn't bothered me since. I read, roots will dissolve over time, I just can't chew hard, crunchy things. Tooth decay has long been linked to heart trouble, I don't know, my late mom, bless her, a nurse said, a friend of ours( Eddie) has terrible teeth and heart trouble. I said, mom, I love you, but "Eddie" smoked 2 packs of cigarettes a day. Funny how people just ignored that. I'm fine,,,,famous last words on the tombstone,,,

You can’t pull an impacted one if it never showed itself. ;)

My two on the left side are fine. The right two were impacted. The lower one had to be cut out. The upper never came in, but otherwise it doesn’t bother me.

    Just a PSA…

Don’t discount the importance of, and the effectiveness of flossing.

In 1997 I went to a dentist for a cleaning. The guy was a prick. I avoided dentists for about the next 18 years until I chipped a bicuspid eating a Fiber One bar while trucking across rt. 16 in Delaware. The next outfit told me I was in trouble and what I had to do to turn it around. Since that day brushing twice a day and flossing before bed became routine, and the second dentist could barely believe the results after about a year. I owe most of that to flossing.

I had a congenital absense situation as well but they weren't my wisdom teeth.

I carry a small proxibrush and single use disposable flossers in my pocket. The proxibrush is used after I eat anything at all and the flosser is used twice a day. Really easy to do these things while driving down the road.
