Seems to me you are ok with racial profiling. THAT is illegal. So I guess you only want the government to enforce laws that YOU agree with?

 

I drive across the border weekly, and plenty of drivers from Canada have a English Proficiency issue. The custom officers need to do their job and have issues when a driver lack English skills on both sides of the border. Sometimes the waits are hours. Yes, scales will become longer waits but if its good for the overall trucking industry and helps save lives then let it be. A life is worth the wait!

 

It appears that some people are blind to this issue. Maybe they're not out here witnessing it day in/day out. It's not only the safety aspect, it's the economic aspect, which in turn, revolves back to the safety aspect, I've been seeing plenty of neglected trucks driven by the usual suspects, doubtful any of that $1.65 rate went back into maintenance after doing 80 mph weaving in their lane and blowing through construction zones. Personally I hope this is the beginning of an industry correction.

If our constitution covers everyone from anywhere on the planet then why have any borders at all and what’s the point if having immigrations laws? Why can’t people just walk right in and say our constitution says they can be here?

 

Because everyone likes to bend the Constitution for their own cause. From the top down it gets used and abused for whatever suits someone at that particular time. It doesn't even seem to be respected anymore. Just a piece of paper.

 

Well I want to have a trucking company but I don’t want to have to mess with authority or hours of service or insurance so why should I have to when the constitution says I don’t need any of that?

 

I can only find 2 instances in the past 6 years where someone lost their life to a truck because the driver couldnt read/write english in the US. I have said time and time again, SHOW ME THE DATA that proves this isnt the case...

There is NO DATA on it. NONE. It RARELY HAPPENS.

Drunk drivers happen. People die EVERY DAY to drunk drivers.

Where is your outrage for that?

Are there drivers running around the country that cant read signs? Absolutely.

 

Drunk truckers kill more than illiterate truckers. Wheres the straw to blow in at the scales?
