    They provide
Yes,they supply most of the gear except for the winder.only buying the pocket winches or ratchets because I tend to be paranoid about not having correct tools.I already bought tarp repair kit.I know some people will laugh, but I like to be prepared.thanks

The heat is something I am taking into account .I will be taking my full brim vented hardhat.allready have the long sleeve hi vis shirts .I am somewhat use to the heat as I live in so cal.and often work down in the desert.when I was a wildland fire fighter I use to put a couple spoons of Gatorade mix in my water bottles, not really for flavor but to get a few minerals into my system.the heat shouldn't bother me.its the cold that will make me cry next winter.thanks

Thanks for the atlas info .I was thinking the laminated one would work better so I can draw on it with erasable markers.but you make good points about the advantage of paper

Actually, I'd suggest you stick, with your original idea of the Laminated Motor Carrier Road Atlas. I originally used the paper one, and it took one spill of liquid to make that a poor choice. The laminated will last longer and be more useful. A note...don't use the atlas while driving. I think that was a faux pas on the writer's part. Especially starting out, I suggest if you have a smart phone, you get used to using it with Google Maps and the Street View to make sure you see what you're getting into at loading, unloading or in transit to either before you embark. That's the only reason I got myself a smart phone when I already have a flip phone that works just fine. It was so I didn't have to breakout the laptop to see what I was getting into. Of couse, always use that thing on your shoulders anyways, if what you see doesn't match what you saw. Things change, so be flexible about it. Being a first responder type, I think you'll do fine, so ask away if you need any help. Of course, your dispatch, if they're good, will be able to help when you need it, because not all of us are running this forum 24/7 all the time. :)
    Good Luck.
