I have an automatic Cascadia 2020. Does anyone know how to bypass a 5mph derate? Some people are saying to remove the ABS fuse and speed sensor on transmission and then drive in manual mode. I’m not sure if this works. I would appreciate any knowledge and insight on this topic.

If it’s a DT12 transmission it should work just unplugging the speed sensor.
If it is a Allison it will up shift, but it won’t down shift and you’ll need a transmission.

Yeah it’s a DT12 automatic. I’ve heard from others that this doesn’t work. Have you tried this?

Yes, I don’t remember the year model, but it was in the neighborhood.
It was to get to a safe place to work on it 6-7 miles.
Turn the truck off and get out of the truck, let all the modules close, then unplug the speed sensor.
You’ll know if it works when you start to take off all the lights should go out.

I know. I'm a dinosaur. My best advice? Throw the autoshift in the scrapyard and put in a manual 13 speed. In the long run, you'll save money.

+1 this. 2022 winter I got derate at a far-away town in Northern BC. Unplugged the speed sensor and drove 700miles with no big issue other than capped 1000rpm and no engine brake.
