You guys called it. Foreign object. I have a suspicion the last "mechanic?" that worked on it, used a squirt bottle to put oil in the system and didn't remove the cap first,....or something like that as the object looks just like a cap on a standard squirt bottle.
Now to find seal washers, install the new expansion valve and receiver/dryer, recharge and see if it works.
Another side note, this Coronado is a new to me truck. Sat for a few months on an auction lot.

Replaced the parts, pulled a vacuum, and passed the leak test. Charged it with 4.2lb refrigerant and it seems to blow cold now.
I do need to get some warmer weather to get a better test, but so far, so good.
