What happened to the thread you started where everyone was sharing locations of DIY wash places?

Loofah sponge with a cleaner. The sponge is abrasive enough to remove the bugs but shouldn’t scratch the polish.

Tired that. Doesn't work unless you spend an hour scrubbing then maybe can get most of it.

I haven't seen a DIY one on any of my routes. I'd love one.

We are sadly very slim on Truck washes that are not company only in UT. There's STS in Corrinne (Brigham City), and 2 in SLC. But that's about it till at least Fillmore, and I think it's more like St. George.

I would love to open one in Central UT. Been looking at land for sale right off an exit of I-15. I'm toying with the wash, areas for food truck vendors and local farmer market for fresh stuff.

The wash, I'm toying with 2 bays full service like all the paid, but also provide a 24 hr available 2 DIY bays. I'm curious how would you prefer to pay for DIY and what rate? (By the 30 min or Hrly?).

I'd consider large paid parking lot with lots of cameras and cleaning/security staff. And it's have a parking validated system. If you make any purchases from any services (wash, food, etc).... 100% of the other services up to parking fee would come directly off the parking fee.

No fuel.... There's 4 other locations to fuel within 10-15 miles..... But only one has parking (flying j). And no truck washes.

It's just an idea as I drive UT south of SLC all the time and not having a easy wash area or parking has been something that bugs me, so wondered, what if I could solve the problem.

    What do you guys think?

Starting back in the 70’s here in Florida we started using WD-40 on the front of our cars and trucks for the Lovebug plague. Just a light coat will do it. And if you spray on the cooked on bugs(all types) it makes it easier to clean off.
    Worked then, still works.

We use PAM cooking spray or oil idk what it called on our grills and bumpers. They wipe off with a soft towel. I haven’t tired it on exhaust as I’m not sure how it will do.

I get it’s designed for cooking but I have burnt some #### up in a pan trying to cook it with cookin ####. If you can’t tell I’m not a chef

@BlackjackCo there's a truck wash in Beaver before Ernies, I've yet to try it, and the one in St. George is at the Parke Cox terminal, which takes forever and their trucks get priority, at least it used to be that way. One in Fillmore would be great too. It's about mid UT, don't know how you'd do on employees out there though.

There used to be, maybe still is, a DIY wash across the road south of the J in Ogden. I’d hit that once on a while for a midweek cleanup.

There was a good thread going that @Kenworth6969 started with DIY locations but I can’t find it now.
