I just bought this motor for $2000 running. I was told it was a big cam. It’s too late to do anything. I’ve got two small cams now I’m just gonna have to use them.
Here are the pictures of the 1977 NTC 350 small cam
Which includes pictures on top of the injector pump with tag

For what you are wanting to do with that truck a 350 sc col 160 will work fine. The one I have has been trouble free since it was overhauled in 1992. It hauled weights in the 80’s to low 90,000’s from here to Montana weekly screamin’ at 2100 rpm. The timing and pump were “coon” tuned as we say by guys that have passed on. I have no idea what the timing is set at. I will have to be careful if it ever has to come apart to figure out how to keep it that way. Like has been said time and time again by @OLDSCHOOLERNWV get the proper pump work and injectors and the overall torque and rise will get better. That is more important than the hp. That 350 can move a lot of stuff. It just needs to have the rpm kept up to do it. Put a bc 400 crank damper on it. It is bigger dia. Than the oe sc350. Smooths out the idle noticeably and Helps a lot with making it snappier and more throttle responsive. Vibra-tech still makes them new.

    BoxCarKidd and Binderdavemays1 Thank this.

For what little it’s gonna work if I can make it 400 horse I’d be happy since I blew all my Mad money on this motor. I got a wait to do anything else for a while. I was just trying to get ideas from y’all. I appreciate everybody’s help. I’m going to be requesting a lot more some of these days.

Here are the tags on top of the fuel pumps
The shiny tag is in the truck now with the spun bearings it’s a 76 small cam NTC 350,

and the tag with paint on it is on the running motor. It is a 77 small cam NTC 350.
If you can tell me if they are turned up or not and to what I would greatly appreciate it

I’m waiting on a call back from a pump shop, I give him the pump number but he had to wait till the owner gets back to find the book…

The part you are talking about from the aftercooler to the turbo is vehicle manufacturer specific not cummins specific. It may have been cast by cummins and has their p/n on it but it can be swapped for anything else that is needed. Put the one that fits your original truck on it. No problem. The bolt patterns are the same. White did this all the time. Seemed every model they made with a Cummins had a different tube setup for however the hood sat or were the air cleaner was, many had low mounted turbos under manifold instead of above or like has been said many engines were installed with a tilt for cab clearance to keep the conventional hoods shorter.

I eventually want a big cam so I can have Jake’s but I have to work with the cards I’m dealt so I’m gonna go through the one that runs put it in the truck and then I’m gonna rebuild the one that’s got the spun bearings and down the road. I’ll maybe trade them both for a real nice big cam.

It appears that the turbo is in different positions from the motor that I just got to came out of the Ford and the motor that’s in the International which I don’t know what it came out of but the one that’s on the motor in the truck will not work on the one that’s on the motor I just bought
