What can I say? The situation speaks for itself. :withstupid:

Ever look at the expression on the face of an idiot who cut you off only to exit three inches later? I have.

You would expect the facial expression to be one of recent exhilaration or fear. Instead, I find these knuckleheads looking ahead blankly as if nothing unusual happened at all.

This tells me that the reckless driving they just engaged in is a routine part of their driving. Like risking their life is no big deal. Of course they don't see it that way, and so this crap will only continue.

The crazy part is that a vehicle with no license plate was able to get that far in the first place. So many license plate crimes I see on the road these days get zero attention from the police.

None of my vehicles have plates mounted. I've been stopped twice in over two years for it. No tickets issued either. They're registered. I just don't have the plate viewable at all.

That's crazy because the law requires it to be visible. Unobstructed even. You can't have a tinted cover over a license plate in any state.

Agreed but as touched on in another thread, laws are enforced however the authoritative body or official feels like it. There's lots of discretion (or power) that gets used or abused.

Laws are only a reality when they're enforced and they'll never be enforced equally because there's no such thing as equality.

They all use whatever they feel is appropriate to enforce (or not) said laws. Sometimes it's race. Sometimes it's class. Sometimes it's favoritism. Sometimes it's laziness. Sometimes it's apathy...etc etc.

Also, another state can't enforce another state's laws. Plates fall into that category often. Just like tint laws. MD can't write you a ticket for it if you're registered in PA. They can't even make a legal traffic stop for it like a MD cop could if it was MD registered vehicle.

In addition some states have “reciprocity laws” with other states so any violations that occur outside of your home state translate to violations in your home state.
My home state (Massachusetts) has a reciprocity agreement with 41 states (and 2 Canadian provinces).

Tell that to MD, OH, PA, WV and MI. They can only enforce criminal law. Equipment or inspection type violations are not enforceable on out of state registrations.
