Got my truck and the Nissan van serviced Friday before taking some kids camping.

My youngest had borrowed my 4 Runner for a bit, so it was gone Friday. So today she brings it back, and mentions that both times she checked the oil it was low, and she topped it off.

Well, it's serviced now. I have no idea how she was checking it, but it doesn't hold quite 5 quarts.

Here's what was in it, in a 2.5 gal jug. Probably a little over 2 gallons.

She has been advised to now let brother check the oil since she sees him a few times a week.

Don’t know where you operate, but around here, any piece of metal big enough to make anything out of ain’t being sold at scrap prices.

I feel ya! Had some vo tech kids change oil in Wife’s 4 Runner. I backed it out, didn’t feel just right. Whatever. Went up the highway to the truck shop, sum buck was smokin like a foggin machine. They drained oil out of the transmission and poured five qts in the engine. Pulled dipstick out and oil ran out of the tube.

    What year 4runner?, I'm a bit of a 4runner and Tacoma nut. If it only holds 5 quarts in guessing it's a 3rd Gen with a 3.4

Just my old junker 2wd 98 4cyl. But dahm, that thing fits down the ridiculous trails I like, goes places that surprise the hell out of me, and if it gets stuck, it pops out easy with a come along.

I'd drive it cross country today, and it'll be going to Idaho in September. Nobodys gonna break into a multi colored peeling tint junker.

The wife says I like it cause it's like me, mostly used up but still gettin after it.

Lol, love the 3rd gens, had a 93 2nd gen for awhile lent it to a buddy, he never paid me a dime for either buying it or renting it, and a dealership let him trade it in even though he had no title and I was on the title as the owner. Still a sore subject. Was a manual 4x4 and was a rust bucket, but I went through the whole thing mechanically and it would go anywhere and never even got to use it for hunting season which was the whole reason to get it.

When have just started to feel better from hip and knee pain for the last year. Take your kid hiking in Hocking Hills Ohio. Ash Cave. That will fix it. Really it's a short little hike in. For people not in pain. On the way in looking up I seen a elderly lady with a walker coming out above us. I thought no problem. Well ill be darned, I made it. But my mind was blown how a lady with a walker made it.

I never have looked up oil capacity on the thing. Looks like 5.7 qts is called for. Now I gotta make sure that dipstick is the right one. There's always a bit left in the 5qt jugs I buy.
