Submit those short apps. on each trucking company website. Follow up with a phone call in 2 or 3 days.

 

The following OTR carriers offer refresher courses....for drivers like you:

• KLLM
• Paschall Truck Lines

Work thru those three carriers....before you go to Schneider or Western Exp.

Wow, no one mentioned that this is the worst time to reenter the industry, the companies are very selective about drivers. We have too many drivers still.

Good luck with your search OP, you have a leg up over others looking.

 

Couple things…

There has to be some sort of DC (distribution center) in your area. Grocery, food service, beverages, auto parts, LTL…etc. There has to be one in your area. Even in the middle of nowhere. These DCs will have both mega carriers and the smaller carriers and possibly their own truck operating side by side. Apply to all of the above.

That's the box you should check on applications.

 

Another driver is having the same issue because he went the same route you did. The online school totals 17 hours in his case which is far below the minimum hours companies want.
In your case, still list the 10 yrs. previous experience.
