Why do you need $500k for a house here? Why is your mindset you have to live where it’s expensive? I own a house with no mortgage in Nebraska 15 miles off I-80. It’s a good location for anything I could possibly want to do in a truck, currently have a fuel hauling job for a company 15 miles away. The purchase price wasn’t anywhere close to a half million dollars.
Also telling a company you plan to not take any time off isn’t doing you any good because they’ve heard it before and at a certain point everyone who has said that in the past has probably flaked out. And it’s not a realistic thought to think you’re going to work 5-6 years with no time off just so you can buy a house. You need a more realistic view and realistic goals for your future.
Looking for anything right now temporarily

You asked earlier what makes one driver better than the other? Hmmmmm.....let's see......
I mentioned to you earlier that availability, reliability, and adaptability were key.
You said you can only make money running west.....a good driver can make money running all 48.
You said in another thread you were late on loads, a good driver is seldom late on loads.
You said you've job hopped. A good driver doesn't just change companies for the sake of change. Besides, companies are more inclined to hire drivers who have been with company for while.
You've got tickets. Good drivers don't get tickets. They cherish their CDL like it's a baby.
I'm sorry but you're not a very good candidate right now. The premier companies aren't going to look at you til you go and rehab yourself. It took me 8 years to rehab myself and my career and I'm better for it. At least you don't have drug charges and positive drug tests on your record(at least I hope) so it shouldn't take you nearly as long.
If you could get on somewhere, stay 1 year, focus on running the miles without having a wandering eye for other jobs, and learn that company's system, and don't get any tickets, perhaps the industry will start to open up for you. All those other goals, like a house, etc, you gotta shelve those for the time being. You're broke and in no position to achieve any of that. So once you get off your entitlement horse, and put your focus where it needs to be, you'll be ok.RockinChair, Sons Hero, Star Rider and 5 others Thank this. -
