I look at it this way $200-400 a week pays my bills and food and im not forced to eat out ever, $500-$800 a week in a truck wont especially in the northeast running all I95 freight

Literally have to look at income vs expense and Running I95 for free isnt worth it i had Drakebush turn me down today they claimed they have freight everywhere but got butthurt I won't run I95 and said no

Guess they dont have any miles they claim they did, so easy to catch these carriers in lies

Why do you have to eat out in the truck? Get setup so you don’t have to. I’d prepare my meals for the week while I was home on the weekend.

Also maybe try a different approach. Instead of saying you won’t do something say you’d prefer not to. You’re placing a lot of limitations on not only yourself but also the carrier.

I don’t know. You seem to be content with how your life is because you’re making excuses why you can’t change your situation. You won’t do this. You won’t do that. You need long miles to make money. You can’t make money running here or there. Meanwhile there are companies full of people making a living doing everything you say you won’t do.

You got burned by a company running you on the east coast. How do you know a different company would be the same? What if a company had a fair amount of drop and hook and kept you moving? Would you still say no to east coast driving? For the last year and a half before I sold my truck I ran regional, the longest haul I had was roughly 600 miles. But the company had around 90% drop and hook where I was running and I’d get 3400 miles in 5 to 5.5 days like clockwork.

Flexibility: at the job I have now I was hired for a home daily position. Last week I was asked to run a load of fuel to South Dakota which meant being gone overnight. And I said yes. Because I was setup to be comfortable overnight. I have a shower bag with 3 changes of clothes under the bed and I have 4 days worth of food for my dog. Just in case I don’t get to go home. I didn’t throw a fit and say they lied to me. I went and made money.

You're so annoying it's incredible, and it's hard to annoy me..Congratulations! None of your arguments hold any water.

I ain't ever run the east coast outside of a handful of times, but by God if thats all i could find for work, I'd run into NYC every single day of the week and twice on sunday.

    $800/week?? to eat?? o_O

I had one of those 12v coolers and a coffee maker, made baloney sandwiches and PBJ until I could do better.

and I ran east coast, at first, then all 48.

AND raised a family with 2 kids, outlived 2 wives.

if you wanted to do it you could.

Dude, you sound like an absolute illiterate bozo..
You don’t/won’t run I-95 freight? $3.04 per mile $1,900 for one day on my trailer (27hrs) I’ll run it all day everyday. Minus $325 fuel/DEF leaves me with a nice profit for the day.

Is east coast my favorite lane? Not by any means but what I like doing isn’t paying enough to stay in business right now. Do you expect a company to take east west/west east loads @ $1.40 avg to appease your lazy caboose?

Real drivers pull up their big boy/girl pants and do what needs to be done without sniveling about it. At the end of the week maybe have a cold beer or two and plot the next move.

Poor you, you got ripped off, life isn’t fair. Grow the F up. If you lost even fraction of what I got cheated out of or stolen from me you’d have blown your head off by now.

Trust me you haven’t even begun to see how bad life can be. Talking crap about your own parents? That’s one really hits a nerve with me. If you were my kid I’d just toss you off of a cliff.

That’s where I’m finding the money right now. Not what I like doing but it’s currently where I need to run.
