Im guessing your company is Estes (didnt look at your profile until after I said that lol). I used to work there and left for many of the same reasons you did. My last month there I was doing the clean-up run from Minneapolis to Chicago via 4 or 5 other terminals and all the dropping and hooking was tearing up my shoulder. In my 2.5 years at Estes I had been to 73 of their terminals. Furthest east was Harrisburg. Ive heard the nightmare stories about the "I-95 crawl", but never had to do it (I was based in Minneapolis).

I left the LTL market and bought a truck and went to Landstar. Now I go where I want when I want. Been there 8 years now. Longest I worked for a company (other than the Army) was 3 years.

    Where, overseas, did you go?
I'm still hot for China. Met two retired American truckers in Beijing. Two older guys living the good life with their much younger brides.
    Edit.

Thats a pretty bold statement, for not knowing me.
I appreciate everything i have and always tell myself how grateful i am.
You must be one of those people who says he will sleep when he dies.

That would be a interesting proposal to ask my manager.
Maybe you would like Patagonia, havent been there myself but looks amazing.

73 terminals thats incredible. You reminded me of the nightmare Chicago terminal was or maybe still is.
Im glad you enjoy where your at now.
It can be easy to settle down for one place too long and get numb to how long you been there.
    Thank you for your service!

I went to Pattaya Thailand, went to see sanctuary of truth, sat with tigers and washed elephants. It was amazing
I plan to go again one day but to Changmai or Phuket.

I want to go Japan see a bunch of things, but the "Dekotora" scene seems pretty cool.

Those to retired Chinese truckers sound like they were patient and got rewarded.

Good things come to those who wait.

Pattaya Thailand; did you visit the cathedrals, museums, places of worship, Buddhist temples, etc.
Don't answer that; I'm teasin' on you.
I do visit a couple of Buddhist temples. When we married, I converted from a wild seaman to a Buddhist.
We go to these two: ChaoHu Lake, Hefei, China
There's one on the left and another in the background on the island, can barely see it on top of the mountain. Catch a boat ride to the island, then hike to the temple.

The two retired truckers are Americans that retired and moved to Beijing. Another one I know, retired and moved to Vietnam and has a nice condo on the beach. He said the condo is like living in a luxury hotel with room service and room cleaning, making the beds, etc.

Good you mentioned Japan trucks. Japan is hiring foreigners to drive big rigs in Japan. If you have experience as a trucker and willing to learn the Japanese language, there's a good chance to be hired.

The crime rate in Argentina has gone down dramatically. Plus, Milei is doing a great job there. Might be worth a visit.

I feel I wouldn't have any problems at all assimilating in Argentina.
I did well in China & Hong Kong also.
Easy to assimilate and be accepted in most, not all, countries if one shows respect to the people and culture.
Avoid countries where religious fanaticism is prevalent.

Sounds like a lot of your family may have ties to the Third Reich?
My Great Grandparents on my mothers side, supposedly originated from the Nuremberg area.

One of my uncles was shot down and spent 3 years in a Nazi POW prison. He was tortured because he was considered a traitor to Germany. They were enraged that he dropped the name "von" from his name when he immigrated to America.
I'm not so hard core about all of that.

LOL...that would preclude most of the United States. I was in Louisiana a couple of weeks ago and my hosts took me to a Pentecostal church where they handled snakes and spoke in tongues.
A little of that goes a long way.
