I don't know how you can even drive that POS like that. That sounds like a very dangerous ride on snow or ice. I couldn't do it personally.

I don’t know about a Freightliner, but you can on a Peterbilt.

The worst thing about adaptive cruise control is when you wind up behind one of those people who for whatever reason get out on wide open highway and won’t dial their speed in, so you have some ###hole varying his pace all over the map anywhere between 55-65 mph, probably because the SOB has a phone in front of his face. :biggrin_25510:

And they’re usually the ones who’ll mash on it and wind it up to warp 9 as soon you pull out to pass them when all you want to do is set your cruise at 60 and just ride.

Yes, that’s what I do. It’ll run 73mph. 74 with my foot on it. I’m constantly cancelling and setting the cruise, and holding the pedal down. Meanwhile the dashboard keeps saying my distance is too close, or tells me of some imaginary collision. Add the IA #####es voice saying “Buckle Seatbelt”. I respond “Suck a Dick ##### it’s buckled”. Blast the music and ride!! Cascadia Life, lol.

Soon they'll be using that data against the drivers in conjunction with a camera. They're going to need robots to drive eventually because they won't be able to find anyone willing to put up with it. Even imported labor will quickly learn there's better way to make a dollar.

I was just listening to "the devil's in my car" by the B52s, coincidentally.

When my company switched to Motive, I started getting safety messages, along with a video of my infraction. Couple were slow rolls through a stop sign on a consignees property that no one stops at. And yes I know I probably should have. Then there was one saying excessively hard cornering. Video showed me running in the right lane on the interstate going a long way on the straight road. Glad that I retired.

You guys do understand what a proper following distance is, right? If the ACC is hitting the brakes you are WAY too close and drive like an #######.
