Depending on brand age and condition OLD anvils can go for STUPID money. Depending on the 3 above that may NOT have hit stupid yet, especially if there is a blacksmith present, if there is a smith present alot of them are willing to pay fair prices, when they walk away you are tickling stupid prices.(normally)

Zucchini. Cherry tomatoes. Petite carrots. Fresh garlic. Only drank one (1) full size pot of coffee today. Progress not perfection.

So's.......... we're driving through the SAVAGE KANSAS WILDERNESS on a route hardly ever traveled...........and I asked The OM," Where are we going to stay?"

( We're flying the Jolly Rogers ATM )

    There's not much here.

    And then there's a sign..... Love's twelve(12) miles.

And it is here. An indigenous Love's.

    So's....... THE TRUCK HAS STOPPED!!!!!!!

We shall approach the indigenous receiver in the morn.

So are they quieter than the ones with blades? The ones around me (of course I don't have much ambient noise) are loud too me.

I wasn't too skeered. Except for JBHUNT and PAM needing to go way, way, way, way, way, way too fast for the amount of water on the road.

That's a bit of a yes and no thing, it is a chunk of iron just like a railroad track, but if you are trying to make something from another piece of iron a good and bad anvil have noticeable differences. It's kind of like drum brakes / disc brakes, they are both brakes.
