You sound like another brave soul with your keyboard. I have seen scabs "prohibited" from crossing, most went to the hospital. They never did cross. Most of you who say they will don't really understand what can happen when a man is on strike and you try to earn your money while he isn't. You keep telling yourself your brave enough, some day you might get the chance to prove it.

Unions are the reason why many people can buy homes, send their kids to school, and have time to spend with their family. Unions are not part of the problem.

Shaws is going under. It wont mattere what the unions do to it now. Its a sinking ship with no one patching the holes anymore. Soon the execs will be taking their cuts (lifeboats) and watching the rest flounder.

Wife was working for them. Normally this time of the year the company has hired non country crew (to see what it is like to work in america). This year all hiring is on freeze, the stock persons have been laid off, security is non existent. The cashiers are being asked to make physical tours of the isles to ask customers if they are finding what they want. Yet the cashiers are "plugging" the shelves with stock that doesnt sell. What has been sold is not being refilled.

I can afford a new car (when I'm working, that is) but believe that the quality of American vehicles has dropped like a stone over the last 25 years. Left to myself, I'd rather have a 1984 or earlier vehicle.

I didn't say I couldn't afford one, read it again. I just stated they are overpriced.

Yes, you are right. But, they are people that otherwise would be on the unemployment line because they are just average workers. If they were good at their job they wouldn't need the union for backing. In my experience the unions have hindered the good workers and helped the lazy. I was a supervisor at a plant and we had to do a temporary layoff. The union said we didn't care about the employee's etc etc. So, we told them we wouldn't do a layoff, we would drop back to a 32 hour work week for a month. No, they wouldn't agree to that so we had to layoff 45 employees. So, you tell me who was helped. Oh, and by the way, the company ended up relocating the plant to another state because they got tired of the local union, moved it to a non union state. Hmmm 155 people out of work because of the union.

You said it right "your money" meaning mine and I will earn it.

It's too bad that some are happy with a job that THEY negotiated
themselves and you couldn't and had to pay someone to do it for
you, and now because of them you are on strike.

Also your post are the ones sounding macho behind a keyboard
making threats when the others are just stating what they have
    done.

The members of a Union VOTE as to whether or to not go on strike,..

NOBODY tells the membership to strike,...
