Well , I told my Boss long ago I didn't want to haul the big heavy stuff anymore just minibikes and gocarts for me. We're getting there. The second one from the front is electric, it's scary fast.

 

I would like to act but I am out working but wtf, wore out was right, this turns into well while you have it apart let's do this... And this.. and this

 

Them ole hemp ropes aint no joke . Dont even know where you could get one these days .

 

Man I know that feeling.
Toward the end of June I took my truck to a shop to have a front seal put in it, harmonic balancer, and run the overhead.
Only other shop that has worked on it other than me. Third time in three years they’ve worked on it.
It didn’t turn out well.
They got the overhead off so badly it broke #3 injector pushrod.
So, now it’s back at home.
Pulled the injectors and pump and sent them to Premco.
Checked the charge air cooler for leaks because boost had been down and more smoke on the shifts.
Found a 6” crack on one side.
Decided if I’m changing the air to air I’m going to update it to the 95-07 379 style, and corresponding a/c condenser.
Checked the turbo while everything is apart, and it has a surprising amount of end play on the shaft.
Fan had two cracked blades.
So…
Pump, injectors, turbo, air to air, a/c condenser, track down all the part numbers for the condenser brackets, build air to air mount brackets and new piping, new boots, clamps, and intercooler mount bushings, relocate the cooling pack support rods, built a bracket for the fuel line going to the front head …
Felt like I was bleeding money the last two days.
Still less than two payments on a new truck though, so there’s that.

 

Yeah that's what this has been, but in my trucks defense some of it has been stuff that I "fixed" when it was well below zero and just had to get it done enough to drive. I think it was abyliks who said you have to be a little f'ed in the head to run older equipment and I completely agree with that statement. How ever when ####. Is going right with it and you are on the open road enjoying it, it might all be worth it

 

Yeah, most days old trucks are cool, but some days they’re just…old trucks.
