Wouldn’t it have been better to fix it, than have a flat tire and the bead is busted so I can’t air it up. Gotta send roadside. If it had the inflate system hooked up I’d have atleast tried to drive it.

And apu keeps shutting off saying overheat. Worked fine when I was on hometime the day I got in and the night before I left out. Something to do with a crappy non Kevlar belt or water pump and the heat generated by the other trucks in truck stop. Or green apu is just a pos and needs to be put in the scrap pile.

When I was pulling a trailer with the auto inflate system, I called the shop with the same issue you have. They told me to drive down the road at @ 25 mph and it would reset the bead and air up. And it did. Made it so I could stop at a shop later and not have to wait for road service.

If it had the auto inflate hooked up that’s what I’d do. But the way it is not gonna happen.

Don’t get paid for that shizz. Plus I might be tempted to use it on the apu or as I’m thinking it’s called afu to me. lol.

You don’t get paid for waiting a half a day on a tire truck either. Not trying to be ugly, but that mindset is the difference between a truck driver and a trucker. It’s also the difference in an 800 dollar pay check and a $1600 one. Just food for thought.

So yesterday the mighty star car started bleeding from the heater hose in the bunk. I could smell coolant, but I had a deadline to keep. I said I’d deliver on Tuesday and by god I would. After about 30 minutes of sniffing coolant the bells and whistles went off.

So I checked the gauges all looked good. I hit the shoulder. Got out and could really smell the coolant. Saw it dripping from under the bunk. Well, I closed the valves, but used all my coolant on Monday because I drained it working on the truck. All I had was my jug water for my coffee. So I put my gallon and a half in. Left out scratching gears.

Delivered, made it to Albert Lea. Bought two foot of heater hose and two gallons of coolant. For 65 bucks and a hour’s time, I was all set for another successful day of trucking.

Or I could have called for road service because I wasn’t prepared. And lost a day and 1200 bucks

Hey they told us not our job to fix things. So I don’t do it. Nor will I provide them parts or free labor. They get enough free from drivers. I donate to charities of my choice. My paychecks lately have been around that. If it consistently was $800 I’d go local. F that. More importantly they could have spent the money fixed the auto inflate and avoid problem. But might mean a driver not having a trailer for a few extra hours. Why do that?
