If that failed it would let in truck air pressure I have ran these multiple times with straight connection with no issues

    Great info on this thread!!

2021 D13 579k miles; just had the transmission rebuilt by dealer under warranty. Now when i got back on the road i noticed secondary air tank going down slowly, hearing the compressor cutoff about every 6-7 minutes at highway speed both with and without trailer. I noticed the biggest air loss when downshifting (engine braking) from highway speeds, 4-5 psi per downshift. Also when upshifting, accelerating through the gears from a stop. In city driving (minimal break use) the compressor cuts out every 2-3 minutes. I’ve never experienced a situation where shifting uses more air than braking! No codes or dash warnings on air. I do know that my leveling valve is leaking occcasionally when I get out of the truck, it has been for a while, but I never noticed air levels noticeably drop from this.

Took it back to the dealer today, see what they say.

What usually takes out the I shift transmission, specially, when it comes to air, lack of maintenance, Volvo‘s transmission uses a lot of air so the air dryer filter has to be changed often.
Nobody seems to do it. There is also some kind of air canister inside the transmission. It usually rust out because a lack of maintenance.
plus the gear oil they use is not the best you need. Something that has a little more Molly additives in oil, if you maintain them right, driver have got way over into the millions before anything ever goes wrong!!
