Indianapolis or Ft Wayne should have openings. Universal in Ft Wayne is Union. They run to Detroit and back every day. $27 hr w/ot after 40. All no touch automotive. I’d hate to work for them again, but sometimes you have to go where the freight is, put personal opinions aside. Looks like I’ll get 11 hrs today. Tomorrow I have a 230 mile round trip. That will be nice. I like doing different runs every day. As long as I know I’m coming back home. OTR bouncing around, never knowing what’s next drove me nuts. Did it for 6 months once. Nothing beats picking your own loads. Regardless of where it’s going. It’s your choice.

Finland Tests Superconducting Maglev Pipeline That Moves Cargo at 500 km/h With No Engines
In the snowy outskirts of Oulu, Finland, engineers have activated the world’s first engine-less superconducting cargo pipeline, capable of moving payload capsules at airplane speeds using only passive magnetic levitation and linear guidance.
Developed by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, the system uses a sealed vacuum pipeline housing levitating capsules lined with high-temperature superconductors.
These superconductors, when pre-cooled and exposed to permanent magnet tracks, lock into a frictionless path — allowing the capsule to float silently with no motors or wheels.
Instead of engines, the pipeline relies on precisely controlled pressure gradients and passive acceleration zones that gradually push or slow the capsules using air displacement. Inside, cargo is sealed into climate-controlled modules ideal for pharmaceuticals, electronics, or perishables.
Initial tests over a 10 km stretch reached stable levitation at 520 km/h, with energy consumption nearly 80% lower than electric rail or air freight. Because there are no moving parts in the track or vehicle, maintenance needs are minimal.
Finland’s pipeline may become the quietest, fastest cargo transport on Earth — powered by magnets and vacuum, not engines or emissions.

    Northwest-ish..

Home daily 100%. Hourly pay, benefits, day cab, 55 hours or less per week, 2 consecutive days off and 30 minutes or less commute to work are my requirements.

Got a interview Wednesday lined up that checks those boxes so we'll see how it goes...

I did two local jobs New Carlisle, IN. The other was a sheet rock plant near De Motte. They both said lower hours, both wanted 65 to 70 and were 50 minute commute each way. So I bought another truck. I would rather do what you want to do. But I'm just a little far out.

New Carlisle has had a couple of jobs posted that peaked interest but that's like 1 hour commute for me....

One is Kett Engineering. Sounds like you test drive trucks on a track and highway... Assuming its something with self driving or electric trucks? $30/hr to start.

    Thats definitely not horrible IMO.

    77fib77 and D.Tibbitt Thank this.
