Is demanding drivers use a cpap normal? The son's cpap works, but is not registering his sleep hours correctly. Last night he slept 6 hrs with it on but it only registered 1.5 hrs. They will probably want him to get back to Stevens yard. I wonder if they will want him to buy a new one? Personally I think they are scamming their drivers.

Did he buy the machine new? Take it back and get it either fixed or replaced.
And I'm pretty sure that all the Cpap/Bipaps have an app you can download to your phone that will show the stats for each machine. Know for sure that Phillips Resprionics (DreamMapper) and Resmed (MyAir) do. get your sone to get the app to verify his usage.

Stevens transport driver ona broken cpap machine sitting around with no miles talking about unions....

That's the most trucker thing I've heard in the past 15 minutes. And possibly the most trucker thing I'll hear in the next 15 minutes. Maybe.

Trucking was once the highest unionized job. 38% I believe. Between the Mob robbing the pension, the Government wanting control, and Union busting deregulation, that’s all history. Probably the most interesting of all Union history. Now here we are. ABF, UPS, are about the last 2 good paying Union jobs left.

I don’t know how union representation would help.If they did vote in the teamsters union as a truck load company they would never get the A contract that a few LTL employees have (ABF)There’s not enough profit margin in truck load the contract you would end up with wouldn’t change anything because you would most likely work as a union member with no real contract. You would in all likelihood be paying dues with no contract just paying in the fund just to say you’re a teamsters without the benefits

Yep, it happened to me. You need at least three months of compliance data.

The Master Freight Agreement contract. That has always been the big money. Used to be a couple local Truckload Companies around Detroit. Drivers made about 75% of the MFA pay. A few Steel haulers also had a contract, represented by a local in Chicago. The Members referred to it as a P.O. Box. Lol. Wasn’t a very good contract from what I’d been told.
