Have an uncle that said the same after he joined the army, a cousin that supposedly barely made into the navy, and another Uncle that was marine Corp. repeated the same about trying to kill you. Cousin went in that barely made it died while he was in, some medical condition that they must have missed....but we did have folks in Iraq at the time so they may not have looked real close, and that's where he was sent.

 

I joined up to meet a mermaid cause of that Bobby Bare song and was sorely disappointed— still am to this day
