If you are trying to pay for items other than fuel, could you please walk to the cashier who deals with items such as your 2 gallon mega slurpy, 4 hot dogs (2 of which you just ate standing in line), donuts, chips, snakiez, smokes (nope 100's, nope menthol, nope light 100's menthol) lotto tickets, coffee, trinkets found priced 2 for 1 located at the counter, .99 cent tools from the bargain basket. And especialy you who are standing 6 inches from the next guy in line. Do you really think closing in on the guy in front of you will speed this proccess up? Go use the other counter!!!!!
For the love of Christ, I am waiting to hand the fuel desk person 4 bills, exact change and grab a reciept. A 20 second transaction. Man I miss true truckstops back in the day. Pilot brass, please take note of this quandry. I buy fuel where I want, and your glorified piss stops are not are not my first choice...by any stretch.
\Part rant, part humor. We've all been there LOL!!

All too true man, I can't tell you how many guys I see standing in line with
4 dogs then eat 2 and only pay for the other 2 thats left.
Then the guy who remembers a few things just as he's about to pay.
And I also hate it when the J opens only one register and you have to wait
behind 8 people to hand over your CC card and info so you can just begin
to pump your fuel. Then once it's done pumping you have to repeat the
process of waiting behind 10 people this time just to get your card and a
receipt.Brickman, Skunk_Truck_2590, Working Class Patriot and 4 others Thank this. -
I just had this conversation with a girl at a fuel desk...I asked her why they didn't leave the fuel desk for fuel transactions only.
She said..."It's not really that big of a dea, It only take a few minutes extra!"
I told her that it's a few minutes that we really can't afford to lose because we are on a 14 hour clock that doesn't really give us too many minutes a day to squander...
She said..."It costs too much to keep an extra person here to just handle the C-store business."
That's the mentality of these places and they will not change until the inconvevience to us affects their bottom line!textroublemaker, otherhalftw, puncher and 1 other person Thank this. -

Just like Walmart with 30+ register's 300+ people in which 150 are trying to check out with another 100 walking in the door and only 5-7 of them are open. Why the hell did they waste the time, space and money on the extra register's when they NEVER use the SOB's?! I won't even get started on those #### head dumb ### people pulling small RV's with a 1 ton pick up or smaller into a truck stop that has diesel at the 4 wheeler pump's and some case's pump's JUST for them but have to back up the line in the fuel island with driver's who are already fuming and starting to foam at the mouth because they have been waiting in line to long and then they want to fight with the cashier at the fuel desk because they can't get thier #### credit card to work when they just pulled out a wade of $100's and only bought, say $75 worth of diesel! WTF! #### like that just make's me want to grab one of those metal rack's or the nearest blunt object and start beating the #### out of them because they are that #### stupid.
For those who start fiddling around taking their sweet ### time, I start moving around a little then I start getting pissy, then that's when I make a rude ### comment such as, "could you move any #### slower? While you take your time we the people with much more important thing's to do in the line behind you are growing old." 0o0o0o0 the look's. But I don't give a ####. I'm sick of that stupid ####. Along with parking in the fuel island and going to lunch or whatever. Or fueling and not pulling forward. I start cutting air line's at that point when I have to back out from behind someone. #### or get off the pot.
Thank's for this thread WM. Very much and long needed.Freebird135, 59Panhead, justanothercrzytrkdrvr and 1 other person Thank this. -
Seems to me that with all the money we spend on fuel, anywhere from 200 to
600 bucks, they could dedicate a cashier to the fuel desk and one for the C store.
The one for the C store could handle all the big money, 5 and 10 dollar, fuel
purchases.
And what about the driver who thinks because he did "good" and pulled up/thru
the fuel island that he can then take his sweet time shopping and eating. All the
while you done fueled, cleaned windows, checked out your truck and updated your
comic book yet your still waiting for him to move so you can be on your way.Working Class Patriot, johnday, Skunk_Truck_2590 and 2 others Thank this. -

What ever happened to a fuel stop that catered to truck traffic?
Might be a good reason to look into a fuel card option though. You won't get your receipt until the end of the month, but the fuel and go is not a bad thing. The big 3 all support it now, I think. Just jump out, run the card, fuel... print a short reciept and go. You can print receipts from those little kiosk machines as well. -
