This industry needs an overhaul.
We can start by only allowing US citizens to be truck drivers.
Also anyone that gets an illegal a CDL gets sent to life in prison. Same goes for pay for passing unqualified drivers.
All the crap that's been pushed through has been killing people out on the roads.
It's time to get tough.
I am tired of seeing people needlessly losing their lives.D.Tibbitt, Trucker61016, Gearjammin' Penguin and 6 others Thank this. -
There needs to be an audit done of every operating authority that was created within the last 10 years at least a thorough one too… In any authority that does not pass any kind of audit regarding require paperwork and etc. needs to have their authority revoked…

I said it before and will say it again. I don't believe the Trucking Industry will get better and more of this will keep occurring because of corporate greed. These kind of drivers lack emotion, personalities, empathy etc. and could careless that they killed people & they're similar to A.I. Driverless Trucks in order of pushing the agenda. I'm Beginning to think its planned by putting an abundance of brainless cdl drivers on the road by giving them CDL's so they can drive 80k lbs machine down the road with innocent civilians who never think 'Hey the sign with a slash through it says NO U Turns maybe I shouldn't be SELFISH because I missed my exit and do a U turn because it could kill people'. As far as I am concerned they're robots before the real A.I. takes over. I can't even count how many times they're on the interstate shoulder and signal immediately and cut back on the highway at 10 mph not looking to see if other vehicles are in the lane. Its 2025, and you're telling me humans haven't progressed with the basic common sense? With the biggest population in the world and obsession with truck driving I can't see how they are not taking over the trucking industry with this kind of ignorance.

A couple weeks ago I drove a coast to coast load interstate, 40 all the way to California. Came back the same route. Six times I had to go off into the shoulder to prevent from being sideswiped all by foreign drivers. I started observing the drivers with a glance over as I passed them or they passed me. About 80% literally had their cell phone or a tablet in their hand about 40% had their feet up on the dash. Many weaving in and out of their lane as they drove down the road because they were distracted. One guy in particular almost ran me completely off the road. I had to use my air horn four times. All due to distracted, driving. All done by foreign drivers. As I stopped in these truckstops on my multiple day trip across the country and back I felt like I was in the middle of a foreign country. As I typically go for a walk each night, I observed most of the trucks in these truckstops. Beat up junkers. And all I can say is it’s a good thing I’m not a DOT official, I’d put probably half the trucks in each of these truckstops out of service at just a glance. It’s gotten pathetic out here. And it’s time for something to be done. I’ve been scheming different ways to document this crap. And shove it in our government’s face that had allowed this to take place in this industry and destroy what’s left of this industry. It’s nonsense. I am not against immigrants. I am not against people of multi cultures, but they’re coming over here and they don’t give a crap about our culture or our way of doing things Or even trying to follow the rules and be safe, so why should I give a crap about them. I don’t anymore. They’re unsafe, they’re unfit, and it’s time for something to be done about it. I’ve had enough and I’ve seen enough.

10-15 yrs ago, I was bi*ching about all those dang young'uns messing with the cell phone bobbing and weaving down the road. bringing their 4 wheeler practices to the big truck world.
weren't that many ferrners on the routes I drove in my regional job, back then,.
now is it JUST the ferrners?? -
This accident is getting traction everywhere. People commenting on it from all avenues. Everyone is sick of this stuff happening and nothing being done about it. Somewhere there has to be bodycam footage of him being questioned at the scene. That footage has to be gold.

As they say in the media biz, this story has "legs". It will have an impact for a while, and many political implications as well.
Just like 2 guys running an Amtrak locomotive down the tracks, slamming into another train while high on pot in the 1980's is the reason we all had to start taking random and pre employment drug tests.D.Tibbitt, Trucker61016, hotrod1653 and 4 others Thank this. -
