There's definitely a learning curve when it comes to get the rhythm of shifting. With enough practice it eventually becomes habitual, but I do understand why you'd consider it to be a distraction. I don't miss having to watch those RPMs or having to watch the speed to downshift. Driving automatics for the past six years has definitely spoiled me.FredTheBasset and nextgentrucker Thank this. -

It is the easiest manual transmission to learn.
I never said it was the same as the cars that were made with a lever.
I can teach someone in less than 10 minutes how to drive one.

A lot of T's had added secondary 2-speed transmissions, as well as wheel brakes (mostly on the rear wheels). I've driven a Model T, and trust me, it's not a "rewarding experience".. -
