Millis OTR journal

It seems like the whole industry is doing poorly and will consolidate to a smaller number of firms that can sit out the downturn. I don't expect this to be over quickly.

 

I'm guessing I asked to join the Millis family Facebook page a few years ago. To my shock I was accepted today. Lol

 

Next week they are supposed to announce the new OTR pay package. Southeast regional was informed of theirs today. 6 cents raise for straight pay, 8 cents raise for per diem . And a new per diem level of 11 cents, for those willing to forgo safety and mileage bonus.

 

Wow! I've been on there for forever. Still on there even though I've been gone for over 3 years.

 

I avoid Facebook and never joined.

 

How often do people hit that mileage bonus? It is would take close to 2 weeks for 2.5k miles.. first load a Schneider was 2450

 

Rarely in past few years has the 2500 mileage bonus been met.

 

Guess the terminal??

 

I'd guess it's not Weedsport or Streator.

 

I drove up 39/90 all the way from the WI/IL border until it ended in my way up to northern Minnesota and back and went by a lot of familiar places. I only saw 2 Millis trucks too, but I did see a Heartland truck and a different truck that had those stupid trailer tails - and they were closed.
Even though I had a lot more choices as to where and when I stopped that trip reminded me why I like staying home now.
