Just curious because I think Mack was the last to stop offering a V8 here and I don't believe many people sad to see them go.

I have a W900 standing at my yard at the moment(not mine). I wouldn't want to work it anywhere, it's so badly built, year 1988 and nothing works and all parts are shaken loose or broken. Maybe that's one of the reasons we don't want them here. They say it's "worlds best"... -
The inline 6 idea was for reliability and economy. Less moving parts and a main bearing for each piston and rod. I have also heard that the work load spread out over 8 pistons vs 6 is better.

As i have said a few pages ago i would love to have the space you fella have in your us trucks. But i would nevere ever want to drive one here on euro roads.
My dream at the moment is the mercedes actros megacab that has a flat floor and almost 10 square meters of internal space wich for us is a hell of a lot.
Anyway i would never want to drive a scania, the trucks themselfs are really nice, but i cannot stand scania owner, they are too fanatical, especially here in italy...cannot talk to them, it's only scania scania scania..even if the truck breakes it's not the fault of the truck because it's a scania.....
I am not really fanatical about the ugly fiat i drive at the moment, worst piece of crap i have ever drove.....Last edited: May 8, 2010

@halfgear: if you really care about in-cab space, than better choice is MAN TGX XXL, or DAF Super Space Cab...they have a lot more space than Megaspace. Or new Renault Magnum
