    Evening fine people of TTR.

I got my background check results from TSA (passed) back within 12 hours. Seems insane considering they told me 30-60 days.

I passed my hazmat endorsement test with the state.
I have not received my new CDL with X endorsement in the mail yet, Missouri is lame and mails it to you.

can I go ahead and start applying to companies that require hazmat? Such as pilot, loves, and some local fuel haulers.
Can I put that have the X endorsement on my application even though I haven’t received my new CDL in the mail yet?
I figure by the time these companies view my application the USPS will have delivered it to me by then. Or should I wait? Also what are some better companies then pilot or loves?
    Thanks!!

I would apply and if asked, let them know that it’s in the mail. Obviously you couldn’t start until you get it.

I thought that too, but didn’t want to say “oh it’s in the mail” and they just throw the app away.

Did the DMV not give you a temporary paper license with your new endorsements on it? If so, those are usually good for 120 days til your tangible card arrives via snail mail. The next company would honor that paper copy

Sounds fishy if you say you've got X endorsement but you don't exactly have it yet...

No they called and said my background check was good to go (I had already passed my test) and a new CDL would be in the mail. I have no idea. Imma go by there and see because I thought I should’ve gotten a paper one too.

The states have their own "normal" process. In my state, not MO, the applicant gets a paper CDL with the new endorsement at the DMV and they mail the plastic CDL to your mailing address. Some states issue the plastic CDL with the endorsement. So whatever MO does is the normal process in MO. What drivers in 49 other states describe as the normal process in their state won't change or speed up what happens in MO. Lots of people assume what happens in their 1 state is probably what all other states also do with no good reason to think that.

I agree. However, probably with most other states as well, MO seems to not know wtf they are doing from one person to the next. One called and said it’ll be in the mail, I’ll show up and talk to a different person and it’ll be a paper one first. They don’t know what they’re doing in there. When I got tanker it took 3 of them to add the endorsement and they were asking me questions about it. Lol

If you are located in MO -- you might also check out Casey's:

    https://www.caseys.com/store-finder/locations

I would probably haul fuel for them -- before Pilot or Love's.

Their fuel requirements read a lot like those for Pilot.

Whether they are in fact hiring drivers with no previous fuel experience -- is a whole different conversation.
