Also had to take a math test. Which I thought was odd for a driving position. lol

One of the issues with union jobs is during negotiations they might sacrifice things that benefit new employees to protect things that benefit more tenured employees. So you might get less vacation time in your first few years, but there could be other benefits down the line.

I’m not one to shill for unions, but in my experience the biggest tangible benefits are the healthcare and retirement options. Both of those can be hard to gauge from the outside.

Paying all that money to the union can be a major turn off, but don’t let that be the deciding factor.

I jumped into a union job I knew nothing about. Glad I did. Generally it might be a keeper. Sysco job will be there. They are always hiring also. People can’t hack Sysco and quit all the time.

Everything you need to know about getting into a Union Job:

The only thing that matters is your date of hire, because its all about seniority. Layoffs don't matter how good you are its seniority, routes seniority, equipment at some places seniority, vacation seniority, days off seniority, extra work seniority. Everyone will say its a about paying your dues and working you way up, there isn't really a brotherhood as soon as bad times hit no one gives a #### anymore.

I had my fitness test and in person interview today.
    Fitness test was easy IMO.
Interview was even better. Seems like a great company to work for. We will see

This may be an unpopular opinion, but given your name and assuming you’re going to be working in Florida, opt out of signing the union card if you don’t want to join. That’s also assuming that Florida is still a right to work state.
