Yes you can, and sometimes they will do it, if they have time.
You had better make sure that everything is right before you do it though. As in brake adjustment and everything else you are supposed to inspect.
Since you will get points for anything that is wrong.JustSonny Thanks this. -

Still leaves the same question.
Take care of the equipment and maybe you will never see an inspection.
There are many on this board who have never had an inspection.
With the new rules coming, there are many issues that may not be properly recorded on the paperwork, let alone the vehicle inspection.JustSonny Thanks this. -

What about random inspections? Is there such a thing? And, how does ISS-D Recommendation come into play? I've read a lot of stuff but I'm finding out that much of what I've read doesn't translate well out there in the real world or that I'm missing the point somewhere.
You mentioned "issues not being properly recorded on the paperwork, let alone the vehicle inspection". I'm not sure what that means.
When you have time, could you expand a little on these topics? As an older wannabe, I'd like to stay ahead of the curve.....those young'ns out there have time to catch up to the curve! -
Paperwork is now going to be a spot lighted issue.
Sloppy paperwork may indicate that you are tired.
Failure to properly list all of the information that should be on the log.
Not neatly written. They might be wanting to see totally neat books.
It is hard to say what they might want.JustSonny Thanks this. -
(Not trying to hijack, but are kids even taught penmanship anymore??? Judging by the apparent lack of this skill in my kids, I guess not!)JustSonny Thanks this. -
JustSonny and outerspacehillbilly Thank this.
