I find this confusing....If I comply with line (1) of this reg. and in the course of being loaded/unloaded but not (formally) relieved by the company, I go into the sleeper to rest I'm not complying with line (4)
This is just like splitting hairs...I mean I do understand the regulation, but you can see how it can become confusing...Alot of gray areas in 395-.........

The way my company told me was that Sleeper time trumps everything. If you're in the Sleeper, you log the sleeper.
ruschracing Thanks this. -
Just wait until they fix this loophole...
They could make it so that you have to actually be sleeping 8 hours. And to find out, you have to flag your line 2 time as what you are doing. This would put me in violation every single day because i usually sleep 6 hours...ruschracing Thanks this. -
How would they acually prove you slept 8hrs they can't.

Anyway, oh, they're going to question your logs if you dont take a dump every day, if you claim to sleep a full 10, etc!ruschracing Thanks this. -
And I typically sleep about 5-6 hours...phroziac and ruschracing Thank this. -
I'm still trying to figure out what this line 5 mess is. I'm guessing just something a handful of carrier's have added by company policy?ruschracing and phroziac Thank this. -
