I’ve never had to slide my fifth wheel before. Just looking for some tips and tricks. It’s definitely to far forward and I don’t like the way it’s riding.

Looks legal to me. What’s your door tag and tires say for rating?

Actually, that's right about where a 5th wheel should be. Tanker, no? Tankers inherently ride rough, and probably no slider, guess the driver just going to have to put up with it,, Too much air in the tractor suspension may cause a rough ride too.

That's about where it should be. The federal limits which apply on all interstates, US highways and STAA designated state highways, is 20,000 lbs single axle, axle rating, or tire rating, whichever is the least. Most set back front axles are rated at least 13,000 and g rated tires should be good for that.

If you want to slide it follow these steps
    • Crank landing gear ALL THE WAY down, crank until you can't crank any more. This will take the weight off your 5th wheel allowing it to slide.
    • Make sure the hole you want to slide to is clear of gunk/debris.
    • Lock your differential.
    • Trailer brakes set, tractor brake released push and hold the 5th wheel slider button.
    • Move in the direction you want
    • Verify the pins are locked on each side.

actually I’m pulling a a reefer. I was thinking I had to go back maybe about two notches because I kinda have to be all over the steering wheel to keep and I could barely see my dummy light on my roof for and I’m also worried about clearance between my refer unit in the back of my tractor-.

I’m not near my truck right now, but I believe the tires are H rated. I don’t know much about that so I’m learning here so I appreciate all the other comments
