Were both axles running pretty close to each other?

Today I did my first and last side unload and it tore up my trailer. Thankfully it wasn’t my idea, and I wasn’t the unloader. so the receiver has agreed to repair the trailer. under no circumstances would I ever in my life side unload

Why on earth would you side load/unload a D8 of all things out in the middle of the dirt? You are lucky it didn't tear it up worse than that. Did you block under the side at least? Dump all your air?

That machine belongs to you while it is on your trailer. You need to learn to load/unload yourself. Some contractors will side unload excavators with street grousers when they cannot get off the pavement to unload, but a D8 with those grousers is a hard no.

The reason I ask is that if they are close to each other then it is likely that there is nothing wrong inside. Typically the front might run a bit warmer than the rear due to the power divider.

Just like engine oil, coolant, trans, tires, hubs, everything will run cooler with less load on it. By load I am referring to power.

I have to hand it to you, at least you aren't afraid to share your learning curve experiences.

I didn’t have the slightest wanting to side unload. When the car dealer loaded the trailer it didn’t have any bounce (by this I mean it slam down on the trailer. The receiver said the unload this from the side all the time and me being new, I said well if it won’t damage my trailer then go for it. Personally I wanted to see it done. Kind of like want to test the limits. I have seen them do this with excavators but they use the boom? Bucket to do it. Was curious about how this doser was going to work.
I plan on getting an estimate done for the repairs. Do you think it was just deck damage or could there be something else? The receivers safety guy came and said they will take care of it.
