    Hey,
I'm having trouble getting hired for an OTR job with my class A CDL because the only tractor trailer experience I have is 3 months worth in 2019. I'm trying to do a refresher course but even the refresher courses that I looked into require at least a year of previous OTR driving experience to qualify. I don't want to have to pay for a full trucking school again if I don't have to. Any advice>>>???

    Chinatown Thanks this.

Local and specialized jobs pay the most by far. Both in pay, benefits and lifestyle. The main issue is that none of those are usually available to a new driver. Basically the advice is to get experience with a mega for 12 months and then move into something local if you want. Or ask about dedicated accounts with the megas. In Houston you will have less than zero difficulty finding dedicated flatbed freight.
