Well I do try to make myself valuable. Last company I was at I didn’t turn down loads. Was on time just did my job. If there was a problem I spoke up.
The same can be said for a driver companies have to want to help them succeed, and treat them fairly. And drivers are looking to replace companies as well. It’s a vicious cycle that goes round and round. I’m not saying you won’t or don’t. I don’t know you either.
I’ll tell you this about me, once someone starts jerking me around and trying to take advantage of my work ethic it’s all downhill from there.

I left a big company for a smaller one. Took a pay cut too. But that will change soon I’m told. And I’m home every night. It has good and bad like everything.ElmerFudpucker Thanks this.

All jobs do. Glad you are finding greener pastureshope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

I just blew up the view on that tire. I had similar cut on a left steer, some one kick up a piece of wood and had no choice but to run over it. When I got to the yard and took a look at it and asked the tire guy to look at it, he said to roll with it. The tire wasn’t old at all, had plenty of life on it. I never had an issue with it but kept an eye on it. Like @ElmerFudpucker said, you have to know what your looking at.

Bottom line is your the driver, if you feel it is unsafe do not operate the vehicle. Is that a steer tyre? Definitely would not drive if it was. Shop said it was fine yeah sure their not the ones that have to drive it, and won't be held responsible if you run off the road or harm somebody else in the mayhem.JForce28 Thanks this.

Can’t tell a lot by looking at it. I guess it depends on how deep those cuts are. Regardless, the sidewall isn’t very thick. Keep an eye on it is great advice. Maybe you can hang your head out the window while driving. Lol. I had a similar issue. Put it on the drive. It eventually blew out. I wouldn’t trust that tire. DOT will definitely not like that. Easy OOS order.

600 bucks is a small price to pay for peace of mind.hope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

Well you may as well double that price because it’s poor practice to replace one steer tire. And you can peace of mind your way right out of businessDiesel Dave and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.

That's what I was gonna say, if this is a truck that was assigned to you in this way then by all means I would stop at a weigh station and ask the weigh master if he would look at this steer tire. Company will have to replace it then with a service call and if you do that don't volunteer that you asked for an inspection, it was just a random thing. And if your driving for a company that won't fix critical safety things as a steer tire is very critical, then I'd start looking for a better place but I wouldn't quit until I found a better place that cares about the driver and the general motoring public safety. It's obvious that this company can't see the big picture.JForce28 Thanks this.
