Most places only mark bridges that are less than a foot higher than statutory height. There's exceptions, and results in hilarious signs where a RR parallels the highway. 23'8"

Pretty sure the rams broke upon impact and that it wasn't quite that high to begin with.

I think it’s generally 15 foot or higher doesn’t have to be marked. Might even be 16. But it’s at least 15

Others have given good estimates, but being I'm a stickler for finding out exactly ( :) ), I did a little Google Map work, and figured out it might be the pictures below that are this area, and apparently, right where that boom went, is where the Height Sign may have been. In addition, I backed up, and found that there is indeed a pre-height sign, so it appears the first poster who cited it being the cheap hauler may have been correct. Pics below of US 75 coming up to that interchange, and it appears from the photos I compared to the Google Map areas, it was Northbound coming to the S Morril Road bridge. It's 65 mph speed limit on a 2 lane road.
As you can see, the posted height is 15'5". This was current as of the September 2024 scan that Google did. Considering, south from that point, is a TA, he may have left there headed north to do his handiwork.

Wonder what a bridge costs these days …..? Obviously your 1M liability won’t cover it. Does the state sue you for the balance? Or does the taxpayer just eat the difference?
