160-200mpg would be a good average. New trucks burn more than previous generations.

Wow, at 334 a 55 gallon drum per 10k miles not counting delivery cost you're looking at over 4k per year in DEF. One more reason to love my 3406E.

That’s just an estimate. A lot of factors affect def usage. Im assuming the guy I replied to wouldn’t be getting an aero truck so his consumption would probably be on the higher end. The 2022 579 I had cost me about $2500 a year and that’s paying pump price.

I do about 80k a year, even less then that if I don’t do any west coast runs, obviously anything stored at home won’t help me when I’m on the road but we have a dolly for the oil drums I just assumed I could use one for def or throw it on a small pallet and move it with a jack/bobcat, I was more worried about the crystallization of getting a 250 tote and having it go bad while it sits in the shop

I love the old stuff too, starting to cost too much to run 52 weeks a year, also been having some back issues the last few years and it’s getting harder to get back up from Under them

If you spec’d the 27 gallon tank you wouldn’t have to buy much on the road to get home if you go to the west coast. If you have room you could also fill a couple 2.5 gallon jugs and take them along.

I'm intrigued, but if I buy bulk, I'd have to store it outside if I want to be able to fill the truck from the tank. Anyone know what the low temp for DEF is before it quits flowing from a gravity hose?

    Oxbow Thanks this.

The company I drive for has bulk in two locations. At one w nose up to a walk thru door and drag the hose out, the other we can pull up along a walk thru door. Both locations have small electric pumps.
