Hey buddy, glad you finally made it home. Say hi to the wife and kids. Glad to hear about the health with the wife. At least your home now. Enjoy. I'll call you over the weekend. By the way, if you do enough road tests for Mort you'll get a bonus.......a Calex hat.

Isn't it nice when things work out that way?

If you check out fine and your application is good you'll have a job. If you have 6 jobs in 2 years there might be a problem. Don't be ashamed about calling into Mort. He gets busy and might forget to call you back. Just call.

Well I'm in Salinas with half my load on. I'll finish tomorrow and start heading east. Hopefully I'll not have snow issues going back.

Keep a heads up when and if you get back across I-10, I think it was last week sometime I saw a Calex Kenworth on 10, definately knew that wasn't you, a few days earlier I saw a Calex Volvo on 231, but since I keep up on your travels via this blog I knew it wasn't you, isn't the internet a fabulous thing, I would hate to make a fool out of myself hollering for "johnboy" on channel 19, I can only imagine the "waltons" comments I would have gotten for that, channel 19 can be a mean place to be in the middle of the day:biggrin_25510:

I sure will. That was George driving the W-900. It's the only one we have on the road. Depending where I load I have been on 231 a few times. I'll be on my way home next Wednesday. I was given the name "Johnboy" when the Waltons first came out back in the 70's. To this day I hear remarks about it. I let people show off their intelligence on channel 19 and get a giggle out of the remarks.

Sounds like you've been busy. Who's your dispatcher, Billy?

dmp how many miles have you been getting.?starting in a week or so .. going to go local for now until i get adjusted with their system. i am only 25 miles from pittston tats why i picked the local work for now. just wondering on the miles i know what i need to make it good and am sure they will be able to give them too me... my son told me not to take any loads out west until my 30 days are up so he can go with me... hope all you guys have a safe trip wherever you are and soon i will be part of the calex team...

well another week in the books. was an overall good week. spent most of my time in pa doing local runs abt 500 each... so wasnt too bad. keeps me local but still good miles. did alot of sitting tho which i dont really care for. i would rather run run run!!! thats the down side about being local i guess. maybe i will try for longer miles now that i have the system down. i only see the terminal at night about every other day to get fuel. gas n go.... so far i am liking this company. its nice when you can call your dispatcher & they know you by name & not truck! well, time to spend time with the family. have a safe & great weekend
