Dread, tears as Tyson plans to lay off 3,200 workers in small Nebraska town

Just a plan to manipulate the price of beef even more.hope not dumb twucker Thanks this.

Not really. The herd number is the lowest it’s been in recent history. None of the big plants have been killing at capacity for a while now. The fats will just go someplace else. The new plant at North Platte is ramping up slow, maybe they will hit their target capacity sooner than expected now.Albertaflatbed and JForce28 Thank this.

Wonder how many from Lexington headed to No. Platte as soon as the news broke? It's only about an hour away.
-
Always got a 24 hour or a reset there. Havent been there in a bit though.

The plant in North Platte isn’t very big. They’ll only be killing 1500 or so per day when they get rolling. I’d say JBS in Grand Island would be the safe bet for ramping up and killing more if they can get the cattle.

I hope folks start looking for local producers....know where your meat comes from... I avoid Tyson meats in the store....remember that old school butcher that you and your dad use to visit...
