    That is stupid beyond definition!

Especially since those things are bad about blowing all of it's mosfets...all at once and that's a $320.00 fix.

Those knobs cost between 150 and 200 bucks depends who puts them on.The two digit Galaxy are a lot more radio than the three digit ones.I wouldn't pay over 200 for any radio though and I have three real good ones now.

I know several guys who have them and have since they came out and never blown the mosfets. I think the ones blowing mosfets are the ones tuned like a bug turd like radiohactive and others do.

rabbiporkchop and Big Duker Thank this.

My best radio is that General Lee I bought from Robin Hood matched to a 250 Palamor with a 5000 Wilson. It works good.I was running with some guys that were 30 miles ahead of me one night.

They say its because those radios do not tolerate high SWR as well as others. But i do think that it also has at lot to do with who tuned it because these things also distort really bad if you start turning everything to the right or clipping the limiter. The Galaxy rep said that anything more than 225 watts out of one of these and your asking for trouble,he also laughed about the shops telling people that those radios were doing over 300 watts. I told him that most shops say they can get 400 to 500 watts out of one and he said, yeah i love those kind of shops, they keep me busy with repairs!!!
