If you don't have them you don't have them. I find false logs without them as well. The EZ passes are great because during the audit they get a print out of them to match the log. Checking past inspection history gives you the past inspections for the year and in real time. I had one on Tuesday that I had stopped and when checked showed a Rhode Island inspection earlier in the day. Thankfully the driver's log reflected it. But in this case the receipts were in plain view.

I got a complete inspection yesterday in Gilroy, CA...After he put the sticker on the window, He opened the rollup door and said I could go.
I was sitting there for a minute and he came over and asked if everything was OK. I told him that I was just updating my log and he said...."Really?" Like he'd never seem it done before.

I don't see that very often either. But then again most of the ones I stop are steering wheel holders.

Any time I have been pulled over or pulled in for an inspection (And yes boys and girls....You can get pulled over for an inspection even if you weren't doing anything wrong...) the officer gave me the time to notate on my logs....they have to log what they do as well IIRC....So that if I get pulled in again...the times on both logs jive.......
I always log if I get pulled in for permit checks as well....

I got pulled in for an inspection the other day. He only glanced at my log and when he ask if I had triangles I said yes and as I opened the door he said I don't need to see them. I guess my stuff was tight enough he felt good about the inspection. He handed me the report. Anyway, I laid my log in my lap and pulled out of his way before I logged it. He was fair and I felt the inspection was conducted professionally.

I hope we never meet. I would hate to surprise you.:biggrin_25522:

But I would be happy to just hold the steering wheel.:biggrin_25514:
