Got inspected for my first time ever crossing into Canada. I guess it was just that it was 9am and they needed someone to have fun with...
Well, they inspected my cab and i have a DV camera, old analog camcorder (just havent taken it outta the truck yet!), laptop, and blank cds and dvds...
well, they spent over 3 hours searching my laptop for child pornography and beastiality. But they also checked all of my blank discs, my camcorders, and my cell phones.
Seriously, wtf. While they were spending hours inspecting me (obviously im innocent since im typing this), how many people could have been coming into the country to do bad things? I honestly thought I was going to go to jail cause i have gigabytes upon gigabytes of pornography, and i dont like communism... blah.
The best part, when they turned the music on to keep me from hearing what they were talking about in the room next to me, the first song that played was american idiot.....ROFL...
Anyway, i feel violated. I also feel pissed off that my company doesnt pay for customs detention time. And it sure felt like detention too. I was left in a white room with nothing. Not a vending machine, tv, nothing. Longest 3 hours of my life. I had half a mind to log it all on line 4...

I went through all that 2 weeks ago. Spent three hours there. Then I spent two hours at the weight station 1 mile up the road for a full paperwork and truck inspection where they found two tthings wrong and gave me a $230 fine. That was a 14 hour day. Parked the truck with 7 minutes to spare.

Man, that and some other things are why im thinking about just givin up trucking. Screw it all to hell.
Anyhow, i saw your post but i couldnt find it again. I didnt even believe yor post until it happened to me. -
WOW!!! And I was upset a few weeks ago when the US Customs searched and x-rayed my truck. I knew they could do this but never thought they really did. Was it just because of the camera and such or did they give you any explanation of why they gave you the third degree?

I thought about quiting too, but I like driving the trucks way too much to just give it up.
I believe that I have been put on some sort of "list" since the first time i have entered canada. I was a smart rear to one gaurd and had a discussion about a pocket knife being a weapon. Ever since then I always get pulled through secondary screening. -
They actd like it was just totally normal. They cant only do a few a day because of the amount of time it took. They didnt know i had any electronics til they announced the inspection to me.
Customs xrays my truck and gets in and looks in my cab often. -
Figure out what you have to do to not be allowed into canada. We have guys that can not go to canada because they did not pay for a bad check and went to court over it. Had one guy turned around because he had a disorderly conduct violation on his record.

You should have longed it as on duty not driving, that's how I long any time spent in Customs on either side. -
Why bother.
