Coming north on I-35 one day in Kansas, I heard a Hispanic sounding guy asking for directions on the CB. He said he was looking for Lowa, it sounded like to me. Nobody was answering him, and I wanted to help, or at least get him to give enough other info that maybe somebody else could help him. I asked him where he was headed, and he said Chicago. So I asked again what it was he was looking for, and again I heard what sounded like Lowa to me, so I asked what thet was near if he knew. He said that was where he was going to turn east on I-80 to get to Chicago, and I suddenly realized he really meant IOWA! I guess he couldn't read that well, and while I was trying real hard not to laugh at him, told him how far he had to go yet.

 

Do you remember how scary the window could be when they screwed up and went up at 90mph, and you thought it was gonna shatter.

 

If you worked at Con-way Freight you could have been fully old school just last year if you had a long run..

No joke, my terminal still has about 20-25 trucks with air starters and spring ride suspensions.. My assigned turd which I do love when she works has been MIA for about a month now so I'm running old school most nights since I'm a nice senior driver that does not make a big deal out of it by bumping people out of trucks (crazy but I'm actually somewhat of a senior driver here now). I have not had air wipers in about 4 years but we never had air windows since that might have cost 30 cents which is simply unacceptable..lol.. Okay, I like my job but am getting sick of running I95 with no A/C and a spring ride - I want my air ride turd back..lol..

 

our old piece of sh** internationals from the john f kennedy administration are still used in the city operation

 

We still use horses from the Lincoln Administration over here.. The other day the old horses broke loose and this is what happened to our new covered wagon equipped with e-track.. hahahahahaha - I can't stop laughing... hahahahahaha...
