That's another thing that bugs me... I usually set the cruise for 59 in cali (61 in the dessert) but today I noticed an unusually high amount of bears out with big trucks pulled to the side. I knew it was one of "those days" so I ran at 56 all day long only to get caught speeding on the Grapevine. What I wouldn't give to start this day over. Worst part is I had all the time in the world to make my stop.

I'm definitely going to look into my options as far as at least getting the ticket reduced. As of right now I have no idea how to deal with this as I live in Michigan and can't exactly make a court appearance in Cali.

I have traveled Grapevine many many times... despite the fact that most people simply think it is a speed trap or a cash cow or whatever... the speed limit is what it is for a reason. Grapevine is a killer. Not because the truckers cannot handle Grapevine itself, but because of the SoCal morons who run it and the #### they pull on the trucks..

Remember that the speed limit is the speed *LIMIT* not the speed suggestion. Get a lawyer, if you insist, but it's a waste of money. THe judge in Taft, and the judge in Bakersfield are both hard***es...

Can you expand on this a little more?? I thought it was 20 over before things got ugly for a commercial driver.

Just write a letter when you post bail for the ticket, pleading guilty to 45 in a 35. the judge will likley accept that since they can keep your money anyway.

Not good news. You don't by chance have any suggestions on who to call for a local lawyer do you?

I couldn't swear to it, but I was told that 15 over "could" be written as wreckless operation....

It can be depending on the officer writing the ticket.

Unfortunately, no. I have not dealt with what I refer to as "Grapevine ****-ups" in a LONG time... I have told every driver I deal with on a normal basis that they an find somewhere else to mess up, just NOT THERE!
